Purpose

To provide information on how the ComPLUS Coaching service supports individual managers to confidently manage globally diverse teams.
*40% of Japanese managers who work with non-Japanese staff, experience high levels of stress."
Japanese employment agency Persol Group, Dec 2019 Survey

Service Overview

Our online coaching service supports Japanese who work with non-Japanese domestically or overseas, and non-Japanese expats working in Japan. In order to manage effectively across cultures, and often in different languages, people must regularly step out of their comfort zones; having a coach in this process increases the likelihood of success. We will help uncover ways to communicate that build trust more quickly, resulting in reduced stress levels, increased communication quality and overall performance.

"I am so glad that I found this service. Even after three years, I was still struggling to manage my European team members. I wish I would have had a coach in my first year here."

Method

The program is a combination of coaching, consulting and training. Each one hour online session focuses on current challenges that each manager faces. Coaches use their experience and understanding of the Japanese mindset to help participants identify ways to build trust and positive working relationships with their staff. The client can get specific communication advice to overcome the issues they are facing, as well as support and practice to prepare for challenging conversations like performance reviews and giving feedback to their staff.

ComPLUS Coaching is intended for:

  • Non-Japanese managers who are new to working in Japan
  • Japanese managers working with foreign staff in Japan
